Founded in Perugia, the Company of Grifoni has become one of the most respected mercenary forces in Italy. Legendary men and women have fought under their banner: Valerio, Sofia, Rebecca, Vincenzo, and Luca, names already familiar to those who know the chronicles of the Nova Aetas Renaissance.
In an era of unstable alliances and cities fighting for survival, becoming a mercenary is often the only way to earn a decent living or a reputable name. Many smaller companies choose to join the Grifoni because of their reputation and the promise of better pay.
Money is scarce, the streets are dangerous, and competition is fierce. And yet, this is where stories worth telling are forged.

Each player assumes the role of a commander in the legendary Grifoni Company, guiding their mercenary band through the bustling markets, backroom deals, and perilous missions of Renaissance Italy. Over a series of Acts, the game alternates between a story phase, using the Book of Adventures to present narrative choices that influence future events, and a management phase, where players recruit mercenaries, obtain equipment, and assign missions.
A unique Glory/Supremacy system rewards different playstyles: pursue honor and prestige through noble deeds, or enforce your will through ruthless tactics, unlocking distinct objectives and rewards.
At the end of the game, the commander with the most Victory Points earns renown as the most influential leader of the Company — but their choices will determine whether they are remembered as a hero or feared as a tyrant.
