FAME AND FABLE
Fame & Fable is a competitive fantasy board game for 1-4 players, mixing strategy, take that and push your luck. Rooted in a magical world of swords and monsters and forged in the fires of classical mythology and fantasy pop culture, the 250+ cards showcase a wealth of diverse beings and intriguing artefacts, all illustrated by acclaimed illustrator Owen Davey. Each card is
unique, adding complexity to the game whilst ensuring continued replayability.
GAMEPLAY
Fame and Fable is a race to defeat monsters and earn fame! Each player has three actions which can be used to gain new allies, purchase items and draw monsters to combat. Allies are exhausted after use and items are discarded. Defeated monsters gain you fame which moves your player token around the points track, collecting tokens that let you ready your allies, but also aids rival players by readying their exhausted allies and awarding them more actions on their turn. Contracts may be completed to earn bonus fame, but plan your moves carefully or you may find yourself up against a particularly nasty legendary monster on your next turn.
Bonus points are awarded to whoever fought the most legendary monsters by the end of the game. When a player crosses the champion token, each other player has one more turn to gain as much fame as possible. Most fame wins.
OWEN DAVEY GAMES
As the eponymous publisher title suggests, these games are created by Owen Davey, an award-winning illustrator from the UK. Owen has worked as a professional illustrator for over 15 years, collaborating with clients across the industry, including WWF, Disney, National Geographic, Lego and Google. He has also created more than 40 picture books published worldwide in over 25 languages.
THE STORY
Fame and Fable was born from a passion for card-based games, epic fantasy tales, and unique illustration. What began as a Dungeons & Dragons campaign — filled with original characters, fearsome monsters, and powerful artefacts — has grown into a fully-fledged board game. With story-driven mechanics, unique character traits, and epic monster showdowns, Fame and Fable brings a brand-new fantasy world right to your table.
