In this midweight and thematic Eurogame, players are independent newspaper reporters gathering sources, writing articles to meet deadlines, earning a reputation, and improving the circulation of competing newspaper companies.
Byline is a unique worker placement game based on 1 to 4 players that plays in 60 to 90 minutes. It is 1960. The world is brimming with news waiting for independent reporters to capture them into newsprint. Byline puts the player into the role of an independent newspaper reporter, trying to elevate their reputation as well as the popularity of the major newspaper outlets. Players have seven hours a day that they must use wisely to outmanoeuvre other journalists! Find the best sources, validate those sources, complete articles, earn a reputation, and improve the circulation of competing newspaper companies. Byline finished second place in 2020’s Cardboard Edison Unpublished Games Competition.
