Talon Strikes Studios’ New Action Selection Game Salon de Paris is Coming to Kickstarter in 2023.
“Talon Strikes Studios are launching their latest Kickstarter, “Salon de Paris” a midweight and thematic Eurogame by Marek Tupy. Salon de Paris invites you to draw inspiration and paint works of art in Paris during the late 1800s. Players take on the role of artists to become the most famous artist in the famous Salon de Paris, arguably the most extraordinary art event in Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Salon de Paris is an action selection game for 1 to 4 players that plays in 60 to 90 minutes. Players are artists who move throughout Paris to acquire canvases at the market, teach at the academy, gain inspiration at the café, paint their paintings at the studio, interact with the art critics, and finally hang their masterpieces on the salon wall. Positioning a painting on the salon wall will earn players victory points and match what the art critics are seeking. As more paintings are completed, the player’s reputation will further increase, resulting in additional victory points and unique player powers granted by the academy. The game will end when the salon wall is mostly filled with paintings, and the player who has earned the most victory points will be deemed the best painter.

The 2019 competition was also our introduction to Night Market, which became Talon Strikes’ most successful Kickstarter. Since we took Salon de Paris the game, there has been some refining of the game, which has included the introduction of a solo mode as well as the careful creation of artwork by James Churchill, Marlies Barends, and Jason Washburn the artwork has been designed to evoke the period and to encapsulate the theme. This was something significant to this game about art that I felt we could bring to the table as the publisher.
