Friends and fellow game lovers,
We are a family of fun-loving friends who are united by our passion and love of tabletop games. We meet up at games cafes, each other’s houses and in open spaces to share our fun and excitement.
But, this journey hasn’t always been easy. We are asking for your support to hosts the 5th edition of The African Boardgame Convention – AB Con this December!
Termed arguably as the first boardgame convention in Sub-Sahara Africa by the Nigerian Television Authority – NTA, AB Con aims to introduce people to the beautiful experience of Tabletop Games – the joy of being in a convention, meeting people of like minds and yes, playing, talking and pitching Tabletop games.
Prior to the first convention in 2016, it was extremely difficult to identify a platform for Tabletop game designers, content creators, publishers, manufacturers or hobby enthusiasts in Nigeria – the largest black population in the world with an estimate of 200 million people.

Except for 2020 due to the pandemic, AB Con has held every year and for the second time, we are asking everyone for their support! We understand that 2020 was definitely a very unusual year, and the aftermath is still visible across the world this year and we value any support whatsoever. We are also making preparations in accordance with our Government Covid-19 policies. We sure need your support and here is why;
To boost the growth of the Tabletop Games
Bring together a community of Tabletop games lovers, enthusiasts, designers, publishers, etc
To raise funds to support designers, cafe owners, and producers who were affected by the pandemic
This year, AB Con is taking a bigger step. Since the last convention which was held in 2019, we have recorded 30 new game releases, 9 new designers, including 3 new Tabletop Games cafés, and a lot of Game Events hosted in different states in Nigeria.
This year presents an opportunity to create and invite everyone to an experience that can only be created by the merger of games, designers, publishers and everything a convention presents – we want to bring this excitement to designers, influencers, avid gamers or anyone looking for a new hobby.
