“Chronicles of Crime: 1900” – News

Chronicles of Crime:1900 Gameplay

“You are Victor Lavel, a young ambitious journalist working for a newspaper called “Les Nouvelles de Paris”. There are so many stories to cover! But as a Lavel, a family famous for solving crimes since the Middle Ages, you are much more interested in crime solving! Having a police commissioner as an uncle helps you to be among the first ones to know about them, and your wits often make you the first one to find the perpetrator.”

1900 introduces a new angle to the crime-solving genre by placing the players into the role of Victor Lavel, an ambitious young journalist. Paris hosts a giant world fair, the Exposition Universelle, which is visited by 50 million people; 1900 Summer Olympics are taking place, the Lumiere Brothers introduction of motion pictures has taken the world by storm, and the Renault brothers have just built their first automobile.

But all of that is a blur to Victor as he is more interested in murders, kidnappings, and robberies and using his connections to get to the perpetrators before anyone else!

Finding shortcuts and taking risks that the police could never do is all second nature to Victor. In 1900 players will have to tackle physical puzzles and encryptions if they want to keep up with the criminals. Cracking safes, decrypting codes and piecing together the crucial incriminating evidence will take players from both the virtual crime scenes to physical puzzle cards.

The solution to some other puzzles may be a piece of information critical for your investigations, like the name of the perpetrator. If you struggle with a puzzle, you can count on your colleague Charlotte who runs the “Puzzles and Riddles” column in your newspaper. You can usually find her in the Newspaper Office and may ask her about any Puzzle card or item connected to a puzzle.”
