Seafaring Rivals Battle it Out in This Tactical Game Where Winning has Nothing to do With Luck<\/strong><\/p>\n

„A zero luck, interactive board game for game enthusiasts and casual gamers ages 11 and up.
\nTwo board game fanatics from the Netherlands are challenging boardgame geeks and casual gamers alike to take a trip back in time to 1602, when pepper was more valuable than gold, and try their hand at navigating the pirate infested waters of the „East Indies“. In Captains of the Golden Age, a one to three hour game where zero luck or randomness are involved, player interaction and strategy are key. A battle of the wits ensues while ship captains (24 players) vie for control of the Mighty Trading Company. With options to upgrade their ships for a faster voyage, shoot cannons to damage their competitors‘ ships, or board other ships to steal cargo, captains must decide the best strategy to get their precious cargo and travel across the sea before it’s too late. The captain that controls the pepper trade, controls the Mighty Trading Company, and in turn, wins the game.<\/p>\n

„We wanted to create a tactical board game that relied solely on tactics and skill with no randomness from aspects like dice rolls. Captains of the Golden Age is exactly that. After years of development, we now have a game that’s simple to learn for the whole family, yet complex in the way players must interact and strategize to win the game. Based on feedback from our friends and game testers, we’ve determined its replayability to be very high. It seems that the more you play, the more complex the strategies become\u037e making every game unique and increasingly challenging. <\/p>\n

\nGolden Age Games was established by Niek Jansma and Aron Groot. Their flagship game, Captains of the Golden Age, started about eight years ago when they were attending university together. Soon what began as a fun hobby, became more serious as it’s popularity took off around campus. Throughout the years, they have continued to revise the game taking into account the valuable feedback they have received from hundreds of beta testers. Now that the game has been finetuned
\nand polished, the team is ready to bring it to market. It is set to be released to the public Q4 2016.<\/p>\n

Jansma and Groot have taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for production of the game. Preorders of Captains of the Golden Age, unique artwork from the game, and VIP access to an exclusive October boat trip along the Amsterdam canals are available only through Kickstarter until June 28th.<\/p>\n
