“Once Upon a Line”
“Once Upon a Line is a cooperative story-driven puzzle game for 1 or more players. You can take on the role of god-like “Zephyrymes” who influence the actions of talented beings in order to help bring balance to a world rife with danger.
“On Earth, in a not-so-distant future, a pandemic has decimated most of humanity, leaving room for insects to grow to gigantic sizes. The survivors take advantage of the insect’s size and abilities to help them build a new world. But that may soon crumble…”
What makes Once Upon a Line so unique is that every action in the game and every choice you make is connected to a hidden “Grid of Destiny”. The grid is covered in scratch-off ink that you will carefully remove to reveal letters, traps, and other secrets. The trick? Each time you successfully scratch and reveal a full word you will be able to uncover new locations, improve the skills of your characters, and gather key items to progress the story. Held within over 250 Cards are more puzzles, over 20,000 words of story to discover, and a new universe unlike anything seen before.
“Once Upon a Line offers an incredibly unique gameplay experience, combining a rich narrative story with intriguing puzzles that are woven into every action you take”, says Az Drummond. “When we saw this game we knew that it would fit into our line of innovative and diverse games so we had to explore the possibility of a relationship with Dan, William, and their team at Perte & Fracas”.
Perte & Fracas will be crowdfunding Once Upon a Line on Kickstarter in January 2023 with support from Lucky Duck Games who will also be publishing the English edition of the game.

• As part of the Kickstarter campaign, “Recharge Packs” will be made available for players who would like to reset their game to play again and explore alternative paths or endings, or simply to pass their game on in a ready-to-play state.
• The base game pledge for Once Upon a Line should be approximately 39€. There will be several optional expansions available that explore more of the world and unique setting through new story chapters.”
