Kids Chronicles Will Offer Fantastical Stories and Magical Mysteries to Solve

Embark on wondrous adventures in this new story-driven digital hybrid board game for ages 7 and up

“Lucky Duck Games is delighted to announce that the first game in our new Lucky Duck Kids line, Kids Chronicles: Quest for the Moon Stones, will be released into retail in Q4 this year.

In a far-off magical land, there are two kingdoms: they are neighbors to one another, yet they couldn’t be more different. The warm bright Kingdom of Summer is ruled by a faint-hearted King while The Winter Empire is ruled by a masterful Empress from her palace sculpted entirely from ice! For years, one wizard has guided both The Kingdom of Summer and The Winter Empire but with so many troubles to solve, the wizard has become weary. This is why he calls upon you, his new apprentices! You’ll embark on a journey to uncover the mysterious Moon Stones and help the wizard to solve the mysteries troubling the land.

Kids Chronicles: Quest for the Moon Stones is a family, cooperative game of adventure and mystery investigation, combining a board game and digital app. As magician’s apprentices, players dive into the fairy tale lands of the Kingdom of Summer and the Winter Empire. Accompanied by the faithful familiar, Nills The Moon Cat, they embark on a quest to find four magical Moon Stones. To achieve their goal, young magicians will have to solve numerous mysteries and help inhabitants of both Kingdoms to overcome their problems.

The designer and lead writer of the game is none other than the creator of the award-winning Chronicles of Crime, David Cicurel, so you’ll see some of that franchise’s DNA in this new child-friendly game. Using our Scan&Play technology, players will find that each component such as locations, characters, and items, comes with a unique QR code.

Using the app to scan components will trigger different clues and outcomes allowing players to freely explore the story. When they arrive at a location, players will experience vibrant 3D scenes featuring characters from the tale. Players can simply hold their mobile or tablet device in front of their eyes to immerse themselves in the game’s universe and search for clues in a virtual world.

Kids Chronicles: Quest For The Moon Stones opens a new line of games, published under the Lucky Duck Kids brand. The line will bring whole families to the table and allow them to enjoy highly engaging digital hybrid family games.

“Kids Chronicles is the result of our focus on bringing the best digital hybrid board games to the broadest possible audience,” says CEO of Lucky Duck Games Vince Vergonjeanne. “After the success of Chronicles of Crime, we knew we wanted to bring a similar system with content that would be appropriate for a younger audience. The end result is an entertaining and educational game that uses devices sparsely yet in a way that no physical board game could achieve”.

Lucky Duck Games have collaborated with childhood professionals and asked children to test and share feedback throughout the game’s development. With over 10 years of experience in child pedagogy, Rafaèle Dhuitte has brought her expertise to the project. Rafaèle has hosted countless tests with children, teachers, and professionals of children’s games to ensure Kids Chronicles is an engaging and child-friendly game.

Kids Chronicles: Quest for the Moon Stones comes with 1 tutorial and 5 unique stories to discover and will release to retail in time for the holiday season 2021. Lucky Duck Games have confirmed that they will publish the game in English, French, and Polish, and they are looking into other language support for the release.”
