Take the Galaxy launches
“Designers Tim van Geel and Piet Schellens have launched the Kickstarter for their sci-fi strategy card game Take The Galaxy. Players race to explore and colonize a newly discovered galaxy, playing cards to earn renown through economy, science or culture. Playable solo or with up to 4 players, the variety of cards and tactics available mean that flexibility and innovative thinking is more effective than trying to find one single ‘optimal’ strategy.
The art and design is fully complete, and a copy of the game for 1 or 2 players will be available in the Kickstarter for €25. Two copies allowing for 1-4 player games will cost €40 in the Kickstarter. The campaign is aiming for €7,200 to cover the initial costs of production, marketing and distribution for the first run of the game. The Kickstarter campaign will run from May 30 until June 23 and the planned delivery date is November. Special rewards for higher tier backers include custom artworks and an artbook.

Crowdfunding
As you can see from the trailer and Kickstarter page, Take The Galaxy is ready and playable now. This Kickstarter campaign is to raise the funds to produce the game and put it in your hands! Additional funding beyond the base target will be used for stretch goals such as translations, a digital version of the game, or developing expansions.
About Take the Galaxy

You start off with a frontier colony built on a habitable planet with space for one utility outpost. Before you lie the colonisable systems, unpredictable events and wondrous anomalies of the Space Deck. This is where your strategic decisions begin…
Will you aim to seize valuable mineral deposits, and use the income from mining operations to finance expensive high value colonies? Or maybe you prefer to focus on science, and the renown from being the first to research the wonders of this new galaxy? You can build space ships to boost your economy, or cut corners and use moral flexibility to gain an advantage – and how will you choose to resolve the events that emerge from the Space Deck? These are all hard choices, but your faction is relying on you!
When the new galaxy has been fully explored, the renown earned by each player will be calculated. Everything from systems claimed and colonies built to anomalies researched and events dealt with will contribute, and there are many ways to come out on top!

● Strategic yet not slow: The cards which are drawn will offer a range of possibilities, and it’s up to you to form a winning plan. Although your options are extensive, the game minimizes bookkeeping and can be played in 45-60 minutes.
